Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to stay during my child’s lessons?

  • Yes! Parents/responsible parties must remain on site for each lesson (no matter the age of the participant) to escort children safely to and from the restroom when needed, or to be available in cases of emergencies, inclement weather, or questions.

What are the requirements for traveling lessons?

  • A Parent/ Guardian Must be present at pool side for the entirety of the lesson.

  • The minimum water temperature must be 85 degrees. 

  • There must have an exterior gate for me to enter and exit through to get to the pool. (not through the house)

  • The pool must be ready, cover off, toys or other objects out of pool when I arrive so I can start the lesson on time.

  • Only lesson kids are allowed in the water while I am teaching.

  • All animals need to stay inside or away from pool area during lessons.

  • ​Bad weather will be rescheduled.

  • Payment for Lessons need to be paid prior to the start of each lesson or prior to the start of a lesson package.

What if my child is nervous?

  •  The first few days of lessons can be overwhelming. They will be working with a NEW person on NEW skills. That can be very overwhelming to anyone, let alone a child. Typically, the anxiety of performing the skill at hand is greater than the actual skill itself. I promise to comfort and care for your child as they acclimate to all of these new things.

What should you bring to your child’s swim lesson?

  • You need to have them dressed in a one piece Bathing suit, and have goggles, a towel. I also have goggles available for purchase if you need some new gear.

If I can not make lessons one day, what is your Cancellation Policy?

  • If your child wakes up sick, please notify me prior to 9am in order to be eligible for a makeup lesson. Notification can be made via email at info@swimmechanics.com. If your child has had diarrhea, vomiting, fever, or ear infection within the last 2 days, please do not bring them to swim lessons. â€‹

How am I billed for my swim lessons?

  • Payment is due at the first lesson purchased

    • 1-2 Lessons: $40/lesson

    • 3-5 Lessons: $38.30/lesson

    • 6-11 Lessons: $36.60/lesson

    • 12+ Lessons: $35.80/lesson

What swim lesson packages are available?

  • 3-Lesson Package: $115

  • 6-Lesson Package: $220

  • 12-Lesson Package: $430

Can multiple swimmers be taught in one (1) lesson?

  • No. Each lesson purchased accommodates 1 child. You may request multiple lessons be run concurrently.

    • EX: 2 children being taught in one 30 minute period requires 2 lessons to be purchased.

How do I change the date and time of my lessons?

  • Please contact Coach Barb via email with 3 other possible times and I will try to accommodate the best I can. If nothing is available I will keep you on a waitlist for the day and time desired.

What payment methods do you accept?

  • I accept Cash, Check, or Zelle.
