Coach Barb

She has an Elementary Ed Degree from Bradley University. She started her swimming life when she and her husband owned their own Swim America Swim Lesson program for 5 years. Once they decided to close the business, she worked at Goldfish Swim School for a year, before she started her coaching life.

Her first coaching job was for CATS/RISE in the fall of 2015 until the end of summer in 2022. She was the Lead Coach for 8 & Unders, and assisted the 9-10’s.

Barb and her Family moved to Columbus, in the Fall of 2022 where she joined Donner Swim Club as the Assistant Head Coach, Lead coach for the 8 & Unders, Assistant Senior coach and Lead coach for Pre-Team Group as well as assisting other groups. She was also the assistant coach for the boys and girls HS Swim Team for the Columbus North Bulldogs, and The Program Director for DSC Swim Lessons. Barb is an ASCA Level 3 Certified Swim Coach, with an 8 and Under specialty.

Her family is a bit of a swimming family. Her husband, Mike, has coached for over 25 yrs for various teams throughout that time. They have 2 children. Their Daughter, Abby, swam since she was 6yrs old and was on a swim team for 10 yrs before pursuing Volleyball throughout high school and freshman yr of college. She graduated from Indiana University and is coaching at Indiana Swim Club. Their son, Deglan, has been swimming since he was 7 yrs old and loves to swim. Barb loves coaching, teaching swimmers new skills, seeing them progress every practice, and developing a passion for the sport! Her hobbies outside of swimming are spending time outside, gardening, kayaking, and enjoying time with her family.
